Both octagons measure 7 x 5mm, near enough 1.00ct apiece and around 2.00ct across the pair, and they have to sit at the same height and angle or the eye picks up the difference straight away. The seats are cut and levelled by hand rather than dropped into a mould. Take the carat figures loosely. Coloured stones vary in density, so the millimetre size is the honest measurement.<\/p>\n<p>Grade depends on what you pick. Emerald, ruby and sapphire are eye clean at A to AA, tanzanite or tourmaline is loupe clean AA, and amethyst and topaz are loupe clean AAA.
