Mai Pen Rai Ring (ไม่เป็นไร)

The Mai Pen Rai Ring wears Thailand’s favourite phrase, ไม่เป็นไร, around the band. Mai pen rai means “it’s okay” or “never mind”, the phrase you hear everywhere in Thailand when something goes wrong and everyone decides to let it go anyway. Here it runs right across your finger in flowing Thai script. Each one is handcrafted to order in our Bangkok studio and made to your size.

The phrase sits close together, so the Thai script has to be spaced to fill the band without crowding it. That layout is drawn to your ring size before anything is made.

A natural stone is optional. Add one and it goes in beside the lettering, a 1.3mm round of near enough 0.01ct. Treat that as a ballpark, because a sapphire and a topaz of identical size will not weigh the same. Stones are 100%, loupe clean AA to AAA in the semi-precious colours and eye clean A to AA if you pick ruby, emerald or sapphire.

Another word or phrase of your own can be made the same way. Sizes are US 6 to 8.5, others to measure. The band is 925 シルバー under a 1 micron plating in silver, yellow gold, white gold with rhodium or rose gold, worth about 3 years of colour. Solid gold in 9K, 14K or 18K is made to order if you ask us for a price. Crafted and filed by hand, 7 to 10 working days.

A phrase to live by

Thais say mai pen rai about missed buses, spilled food, plans that fall apart. It is less a shrug than a decision to move on. Wear it as a reminder to let the small things go, or give it to someone who takes life too seriously.
