The Octagon-Pear Cut Natural Gemstone Stud Earrings use a cut you will not see often: the tapered point of a pear, with the straight faceted edges of an octagon down the sides. It is a stud, so it stays flat to the ear and you can wear it all day, but it does not read as a plain dot the way a round does. Sold by the piece and made to order in our Bangkok studio.

Sold one earring at a time, so order two for a pair, or one if you are filling a second piercing. You pick the cut as well as the stone. A 7x5mm octagon lands around 1.00ct, a 6x4mm pear closer to 0.40ct. Carat here is a diamond equivalent and coloured stones are not all the same density, so take it as a guide.

The stone is held in a closed setting on a flat post. Ruby, emerald and sapphire come eye clean at A to AA. Everything on the semi-precious list is loupe clean, AA to AAA.
