Is this really comfortable for every day? More than the others, yes. No clipped corners and no flat edges, and the pear’s point is set below the surface.

A 6x4mm pear and a 5mm round brilliant, both natural, both set by hand. The pear’s tip is tucked under the metal so no sharp point stands proud of the setting, and the outside of the band is polished round rather than left flat. That is what makes it bearable when you never take your rings off.

Reckon on about 0.40ct for the pear and 0.50ct for the round, roughly 0.90ct together. Coloured stones weigh differently from diamond, so those are estimates. Sapphire, ruby and emerald are eye clean A to AA, the semi-precious range loupe clean AA to AAA.
