The best gift for her is the one made for her, and no one else. Not pulled off a shelf, not the same thing ten other people gave. A personalized piece says you paid attention. Here are the ones we make most, who they suit, and what to know before you order.
Her name, or the name she loves
A name necklace is the easy yes. Her own name, a child’s name, or a word that means something between you, crafted and finished by hand. Choose English or Thai script, add a birthstone, and pick the metal. See our custom name necklaces.
One thing worth knowing about script. Thai letters carry loops and tails that have to be filed by hand after the piercing, so a Thai name takes more bench time than the same name in English. It also looks like nothing else on a chain. If she reads Japanese, we make that too.
A single initial
If a full name feels like a lot, one letter says plenty. An initial necklace or ring is small, easy to wear every day, and easy to layer with what she already owns. Add her birthstone and it becomes hers alone. For something with more presence, the pave-set Thai letter pendant frames one consonant in a halo of stones.
A birthstone for the people she loves
For a mum, a grandmother, or anyone who counts the people close to her, a birthstone piece holds a stone for each one. You are not limited to a fixed list, so choose any natural gemstone you like. A family ring with a stone per child is the gift that gets the longest hug.
Every stone we set is natural. The semi-precious colours are loupe clean, between AA and AAA. Ruby, emerald and sapphire come eye clean at A to AA. Coloured stones of the same size sit at different densities, so carat weights are always approximate, and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise.
Something from Thailand
If she loves this part of the world, a name in Thai script is a gift she will still be wearing years from now. Our Thai name necklace is handwritten, crafted by hand, and made to order. For a lighter version of the same idea, a charm bracelet lets her add pieces over time rather than all at once.
Silver or gold
This is the question we get asked most. 925 sterling silver with a plated finish is the sensible choice for most gifts, and the colour holds for roughly four to six years with normal wear. Rhodium is the easiest to live with, because it stops the silver tarnishing on top of giving you the white gold look.
Solid gold in 9K, 14K or 18K costs more and never wears off. If the piece is meant to last decades, or she has a nickel sensitivity, go solid. One habit worth passing on either way: take silver off before a shower, a pool, or the sea.
Before you order
Everything is made after you order, and that takes 7 to 10 working days. Necklaces and bracelets need no size from you, which makes them the safer surprise. Rings do, so either borrow one she already wears and measure the inside diameter, or pick a piece that does not need sizing.
