The Thai Initial Side Necklace with 2 Chains and 2 Letters gives each Thai consonant its own fine chain, then wears the two together as a layered set. Because the chains sit at slightly different heights, the letters drape instead of lining up flat, and that is where the movement comes from. It is the layered look built in, so there is nothing to style. Made to order in our Bangkok studio.

Details and materials

Two separate necklaces, sold as one set. You choose a Thai consonant for each chain and we craft both letters by hand. The chart above pairs every Latin letter with its closest Thai character, so an M gives you ม. English and Japanese letters can be made instead.

The two stones are round 1.3mm, about 0.01ct each. Carat figures here are approximate, because density varies from one gemstone to the next.

There is a stone picker for each necklace, so the two do not have to match. Natural diamond is graded G, VS to SI. Emerald, ruby and sapphire are eye clean A to AA, the semi-precious stones loupe clean AA to AAA. Carat weight moves with the stone you pick, so ask us for a figure first.

Chains at 38cm, 40cm, 45cm or 50cm with a 3cm extender on each. Both chains and both letters are 925 sterling silver with a 0.5 micron plating that holds its colour about 3 years. Solid gold sets in 9K, 14K or 18K are made on request. The set is 4,000 THB, ready in 7 to 10 working days, with a 3 year warranty.

Are the two chains joined? They are made as a set to layer together, so the drape stays even and the letters do not tangle.

Can the two letters be on different length chains? The pair is made to sit at a flattering layered height. If you want a specific gap, tell us at checkout and we will look at it.
