The Natural Gemstone 6×4 Cushion Prong-set Necklace puts one cushion-cut stone at the front of the chain and nothing else. A cushion is a square with its corners rounded off, so it reads softer than an octagon and fuller than a pear at the same millimetres. It is the shape to pick when you want the stone to be the whole piece. Made to order in our Bangkok studio.
Details and materials
The stone is 6 x 4mm. Four prongs hold it with small claws and leave the back of the gem open, which is why a transparent stone looks brighter here than it would in a closed setting. Carat weight is not quoted because coloured stones differ in density and millimetres do not convert straight into weight, so two stones the same size can weigh differently.
Every gemstone is natural. Sapphire, ruby and emerald come eye clean at A to AA, and semi-precious material is loupe clean AA to AAA. Setting and chain are 925 sterling silver with a 0.5 micron plating in silver, yellow gold, rose gold or rhodium white, which holds its colour about 3 years. Rhodium asks least of you. Solid gold in 9K, 14K or 18K is made to order and never plated. Chains are 38cm, 40cm, 45cm and 50cm with a 3cm extender. 7 to 10 working days at the bench, free delivery inside Thailand, tracked by FedEx, DHL or EMS abroad, 3 year warranty.

Questions, answered
How does a cushion differ from an oval? A cushion keeps four soft corners, so it holds a square outline. An oval has none. On a small stone the cushion looks a little wider and more solid. Message us if you want help choosing.
Plated silver or solid gold? Plated silver is the everyday choice and costs a fraction as much. Solid gold is the one you hand on. Both use the same stone and the same setting.
How long does it take? Usually 7 to 10 days.
