The Two Natural Gemstones Ring in Octagon and Pear is the pairing with direction in it. The octagon sits square and still. The pear tapers to a point, and because we set that point running along the finger rather than across it, the ring pulls the eye lengthways and makes the hand look longer. That is a real effect, not a sales line. Choose two stones and we set them by hand in our Bangkok studio.

Solid 925 sterling silver with 1-micron plating in yellow gold, rose gold or white gold (rhodium). The pear’s point is set down into the metal so it cannot snag, with smooth edges for everyday wear.

Which way does the pear point? Along the finger, towards the nail, unless you tell us otherwise. That is the more flattering direction. If you want it pointing across, just say.
Do the two stones need to match? No. Different colours suit this pairing better than matched ones, because the cuts are already so different.
How long does it take? Usually 7 to 10 days from your order.

Details and materials
Two stones, two different jobs for the setter. The octagon is 7 x 5mm and lands near 1.00ct. The pear shares that footprint but is a lighter shape, closer to 0.70ct, and its tip has to be buried in metal so the point cannot chip or catch on a jumper. Both figures are estimates. Density changes from one gem species to the next, so the scale does not always agree with the millimetres.
Ruby, sapphire and emerald come eye clean, graded A to AA. Semi-precious stones are cut loupe clean, AA to AAA. The ring is 925 sterling silver with a 1 micron plated finish in silver, yellow gold, rose gold or white gold with rhodium, good for roughly 3 years before the colour softens.
