The Thai Initial Side Necklace with Pave Setting hangs a single Thai consonant off to one side and covers it in small pave-set diamonds. The side placement keeps it quiet while the pave gives the letter an all-over sparkle that catches the light when you move. It is the Thai version of a paved initial, understated because of where it sits. Made to order in our Bangkok studio.
Details and materials
Pave means the whole face of the letter is bead set with small diamonds, and that is slow work on a shape as curved as a Thai consonant. Give it the full 7 to 10 working days. The diamonds are natural, G colour, VS to SI, which reads white and clean at this size. We do not quote a carat total, since the stone count changes with the letter you pick.
Letter and chain are 925 sterling silver with a 0.5 micron plated finish in silver, yellow gold, rose gold or white gold with rhodium. Rhodium is the common pick here because it keeps the diamonds looking white and stops the silver tarnishing, so it is the least upkeep of the four. Figure on 3 years from the plating before the colour softens. Solid gold in 9K, 14K or 18K is made on request, so ask us for a quote. Chains at 38cm, 40cm, 45cm or 50cm with a 3cm extender.
