The Natural Gemstone Teardrop Earrings hang the stone just below the ear so it moves when you do. That movement is the difference between these and a stud, and it is why they catch light across a room where a flat stud does not. They are still light enough for a full day. Sold by the piece and made to order in our Bangkok studio.
Details and materials
Priced per earring. Two if you want a matched pair, one if you are adding to a stack. The stone is a 7x5mm teardrop, cut with a 3D profile rather than the flat back of a pear, so it carries far more depth and comes in around 1.40ct, hanging off the post so it swings a few millimetres as you move. Coloured stones sit at different densities, which is why that weight is an approximation.
Ruby, emerald and sapphire arrive eye clean at A to AA. The semi-precious stones are loupe clean, somewhere between AA and AAA depending on which you pick.
Metal is a real choice on this pair. Take 925 sterling silver, or solid gold in 9K, 14K or 18K, then the colour: silver, yellow gold, white gold with a rhodium finish, or rose gold. Plating only comes into it on the silver, where the 0.5 micron finish keeps its colour around 3 years. Solid gold has nothing to wear off. Silver starts at 1,900 THB per piece, made in 7 to 10 working days, boxed with a 3 year warranty.
