The Horizontal Bezel-Set Natural Gemstones Necklace sets each stone in a closed rim and lays them flat in a line across the chain. This is the one we make most often as a family piece, because a horizontal row is how people naturally read a list. One stone per child, in birth order, left to right. It lies flat on the collarbone and stays put. Made to order in our Bangkok studio.
Details and materials
A bezel is a closed rim of metal wrapped around the stone, so there are no claws to snag on a scarf or a jumper. That is why this row gets ordered as an everyday necklace while the prong versions come out for occasions.
The stones are octagons, 7 x 5mm, which puts each one at about 1.00ct. Read that as an estimate, because density is not the same from one gem to another. You set the order left to right and all of them are 100% natural, eye clean A to AA in emerald, ruby or sapphire, loupe clean AA to AAA otherwise.
Chain and settings are 925 sterling silver with a 0.5 micron plating in silver, yellow gold, white gold with rhodium or rose gold. That finish holds colour about 3 years, and rhodium is the least fuss because it stops the silver tarnishing. Solid gold in 9K, 14K or 18K to order. Allow 7 to 10 working days, free delivery inside Thailand.

Why a bezel rather than prongs? Bezels sit flush and take knocks better, so a necklace worn daily lasts longer. The prong version lets more light into the stones if you want brightness over durability.
