Natural Gemstones Octagon Earring

The Natural Gemstones Octagon Earring is a single stud: one octagon-cut natural gemstone, 7x5mm, in an open four-prong setting. The stone is long enough to read as a little rectangle of colour from across a table, which a round stud of the same width does not. The setting is open underneath, so light gets in behind the stone. We make each one by hand in our Phra Khanong studio.

It is priced and sold per earring. One stud is one earring. For a pair, add two to your cart, in the same stone or in two different ones.

3. We make it and send it. Set by hand in Bangkok, then shipped free and tracked anywhere in Thailand.

Details and materials

The earring is solid 925 sterling silver. Leave it silver, or have it plated 0.5 micron in yellow gold, white gold (rhodium) or rose gold. The colour is a finish on the silver, so it holds for roughly four to six years and can be redone after that. Rhodium is the one we suggest if you want the least upkeep, since it also keeps tarnish off.

The stone is octagon-cut, 7x5mm, set in four prongs. The post has a screw back, which takes a few more seconds to put on than a push back and is much harder to lose. Precious stones come eye clean, A to AA. The semi-precious range runs loupe clean, AA to AAA. Price changes with the stone you pick. Garnet and white topaz cost least. Ruby, sapphire and emerald cost the most.

Because they come one at a time, you can split the pair. A stone for your own month in one ear and someone else’s in the other. Or one earring each, worn by two people.
