The Prong-Set Side Necklace with 2 Natural Gemstones puts two stones along one side of the chain rather than at the centre. It is the same two stones as our centred version, moved. Off-centre reads as casual, and more usefully it means the stones do not collide with anything else you are wearing, so this is the one to buy if you already own necklaces you wear together. Made to order in our Bangkok studio.
Details and materials
Two natural gemstones held in prongs rather than a closed rim, which is why light gets under them from the sides. One is a 4mm square, the other a 6x3mm marquise, and each lands near 0.30ct, so about 0.60ct on the chain. Colour changes density, so those are approximations.
Choose the chain at 38cm, 40cm, 45cm or 50cm. Every length carries a 3cm extender, so you can drop it a little on the day. Sapphire, emerald and ruby are eye clean A to AA. The semi-precious stones are loupe clean AA to AAA.
Chain and settings are 925 sterling silver with a 0.5 micron plating in silver, yellow gold, white gold (rhodium) or rose gold, which should hold its colour 3 years. Prefer solid gold? Questions, answered
Can the two stones be different colours? Yes, and most are. Pick any two from our natural gemstone range and we will set them as a pair.
Side or centred? Centred is dressier and symmetrical. Side is easier to layer and looks less deliberate. Same stones, same price, so it comes down to how you wear necklaces. Ask us if you want a view.
How long does it take? Usually 7 to 10 days.
